FES Ethiopia welcomes new Resident Representative

With the collaboration of 75 partners from government agencies, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and teams from the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung of Ethiopia and African Union Cooperation offices, Dr. Peter Oesterdieckhoff was honored by invited guests and bid farewell to his tenure as Resident Representative of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in Addis Abeba.

In his speech, he expressed sincere gratitude to all national and international partners for their excellent cooperation during his stay in Addis Abeba. As this short appointment during the year 2016 had followed a first term between 2001 and 2004, he was able to comment on recent political developments within a broader perspective.

New Resident Representative of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and Head of Office in Ethiopia is Constantin Grund. Following assignments in Madagascar and Benin, Addis Abeba is his third appointment for the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung on the African continent. In his brief introduction, he expressed his solemn wish that the stable cooperation with longstanding partners continue. He also used the opportunity to open the door for new partners on matters of national importance in Ethiopia. Mr. Grund is looking forward to this five-year-term in Addis Abeba.
